Tasting Notes:

The name 'Cricket Pitch' is derived from the early Parish map which shows the original 10 acre purchase in 1970 to be the Pokolbin playing fields.  This is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon sourced from premium wine regions. The wine has had a short maturation in American oak.  The Sauvignon Blanc from the cooler areas provides the powerful fruit backbone with aromas of ripe mango and tropical melon.  Some barrel ferment and surlee character add subtle complexity and further dimension to the palate.  A fine natural acid structure provides length and liveliness to the wine. 

Food Pairings:

The perfect accompaniment to a dozen freshly shucked oysters and a whole baked fish for lunch or a spicy Asian dinner.
