Tasting Notes:

This great value wine has a rich, inky colour. Dark plum, toasty oak and vanilla aromas. Complex palate with meaty, dark fruit and oak flavours with supple tannins. A wine for drinking now but will improve over the next 2/3 years.

Oveja negra means black sheep and we all know who they are - someone special, who sticks out of the crowd. Well that is just what founder of Via wines (the company behind Oveja Negra) Jorge Coderch is like. And this range of wines very much reflects his personality and character.

Method of Production : After handpicking the separate parcels of grape varieties were vinified at three of Via's four wineries (Nilahue, Chilcas and Tapihue) and then blended together before bottling. The grapes were all destemmed, crushed and macerated on their skins before being fermented in stainless steel tanks over three weeks with regular pumping over. After malolactic conversion the wine was pressed from the skins, fined, filtered and bottled.
