Tasting Notes:Domaine Champeau is a 16.5 ha estate in St Andelain, run by 2 cousins, Franck & Guy Champeau. They are the third generation to run the property, and apart from 1.5 ha which is planted with Chasselas (delicious, but quite unsellable!), they only make Pouilly-Fumé. The soils across the estate range form pure silex to argilo-calcaires, argile à silex and chalk. Their Cuvée Silex comes from pure silex; it has a rich, smokey, grapefruity nose, and is very serious, very long.
