The ‘Vieris’ Sauvignon Blanc is fermented in oak barrels and then matured in oak for a further 12 months. Rich and tropical, the wine has great ripeness of flavour, with the herbaceous characters typical of Sauvignon transmuted during the ripening period on the vine. The oak nestles nicely under the structured fruit.ROBERT PARKER 90 points (2007) 'The 2004 Sauvignon Vieris (aged in oak) naturally possesses more volume and amplitude than the steel-aged Sauvignon Piere. Though expansive in its sweet, honeyed, ripe fruit, the toasted oak detracts from the wine-s freshness and covers much of the varietal character. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2010.'
