The colour is red with slight amber/brick on the edge. The nose offers spicy plum, black pepper, cool menthol/mint, then flavors of chewy nougat packed with roasted nuts and jammy fruit pieces, praline, cocoa and chocolate covered cherry.

Has great elegance and harmony, and should continue to improve for many years. Medium ruby-red, with very fresh plum aromas, medium-bodied, with very delicate fresh fruit flavors, lively acidity and a delicate finish...

Dows 1977 is full bodied, sweet and ready but will keep and is beginning to show maturity on the rim. The nose is well defined and compact, leading on to a plalate that oozes finesse, concentration and class.

The 1977 has developed magnificently in the bottle, and while it clearly needs another decade to reach its summit, it is the best Fonseca since the 1970 and 1963.
|
Full-bodied, viscous, and almost impenetrable, this dense, backward port is powerful and exceptionally long in the finish...it coats the taster’s palate with licorice, jammy black fruits, and notes of chocolate that last for over a minute.

Fonseca Ten Year Old Tawny Port is russet in colour with brilliant crimson highlights and a fragrant, ripe-fruit bouquet. Its smooth, silky texture and subtle oak nuances are balanced by a fresh acidity.
|
'Graham is another great port house, producing one of the deepest-colored and sweetest styles of vintage port. Along with Taylor and Fonseca, Graham has probably been the most consistent producer of great port in the post- World War II era.

A definite candidate for wine of the vintage. Superb and VERY highly rated!
|
Fine, elegant and mineral. Tannic and rich but not excessive and with a longspicy aftertaste. Impressive finesse.
|
A stunning tawny that is easy to drink and elegant in style. A super match to Shaun Rankin's Treacle Tart!
