Bottle Description
Tasting Notes:
Grape Varietals: 40% Cinsault, 30% Grenache, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Mourvèdre. The look is deep, while the edges are bright with cherry hues. This is a charismatic red with warm spices, sweet red fruit, subtle oak and a firm tannic structure. This wine is medium-bodied and well balanced with an elegant and long finish.
"The Silver Selection is among the most delicious of the new generation Lebanese Reds, stuffed with strawberries, spices and chocolate."
"Cinsault, Mourvèdre, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Grenache combine to produce one of Lebanon’s most characteristic and affordable reds. Good use of Cinsault from a winery that is proud of how it uses this unfashionable grape. Deep cherry red, with a lovely nose of framboise that is a prelude to rich, cooked fruit and pepper in the mouth, yet supple and soft with decent length. This is where modern Lebanese wine should be going."
Food Pairings:
An elegant wine, which goes well with red and white meat and sauce, rich cheese and charcuterie. An ideal partner with French cuisine and cassoulet. Best served at 19C.
Acclaim:
Jancis Robinson highlighted this wine as one of her top wines to recommend for Christmas 2010 - "Hébrard of St-Emilion and Brunier of Vieux Télégraphe are involved in this blend of Grenache, Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon and Mourvèdre. Rich and explosive. Powerful and different. A sort of cross between Ch Musar and St-Emilion."
