Notes:
The Vina La Playa estate occupies some of Colchagua Valley`s most desirable acreage on the western shores of the Tinguiririca river. Comprising 600 acres and a $10 million state of the art winery, this excellent producer is owned by the Sutil family and the talented winemaker Diego Garcia makes superb modern fruit-driven wines from grapes sourced entirely from the estate. Exciting new vineyard development in the coastal Limari Valley, north of Santiago, will produce some outstanding cool climate varietals over the next few years.
Hand picked from steep slopes at La Playa`s exciting new vineyard programme at their Finca in the cool coastal Limari Valley. Sol Y Sombra translates to Sun and Shadow and the grapes from these plots were picked ten days apart to enhance the Sauvignon`s characteristics. The blend is taken 60% from Shadow and 40% from Sun, to create a wine that has vibrant, zesty lemon acidity, fragrant aromas and an invigorating freshness and a mouthwatering finish.
Food:
Summer salads, roasted asparagus, grilled Dover sole and moules mariniere.
