Tasting Notes:
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. Aged in barrel for 20 months. Plum and cigar box nose with some toasty oak. It's dense and rich with morello cherry, cassis and plum, cedar, hints of liquorice and creamy, toasty oak. The tannins are ripe but soft. It's that classic new world meets old world in many respects, but the fruit is definitely in the new world camp, the structure and savoury notes -old world. Whilst attractive drinking now this rich red will happily cellar for 5-10 years. The best John X for a while. Good value too.
