Notes:
The Seaview vineyard is exposed to some of the toughest growing conditions in Marlborough; high sunshine and wind, cool nights and low rainfall which produces a smaller, thicker skinned berry with intense fruit flavours.
The Yealands Estate Pinot Gris is produced exclusively from the Berrysmith clone – some of the first planted in New Zealand. This clone is known for producing smaller more intensely flavoured bunches.
Tasting Notes:
Concentrated and perfumed with pear drop and hints of spiced apple. Mouth-filling, silky texture with layers of plump fruit and butter, held together with a refreshing acid structure.
Dunell's Comments: A clean, perfumed nose of pears and apples. More mineral Pinot Gris in comparision to our new favourite, Mount Difficulty. Slightly closed and more restrained. More Italian in style. Nice spicy notes and very refreshing. Very good.
