Notes:
Located in Stellenbosch, with vineyards adjacent to Vergelegen and Morgenster, Journey's End is right at the heart of one of the cape's most exciting terroirs. bought and replanted by the Gabb family in 1996, the last ten years have seen the estate grow into one of the most talked about in the region. The wines have won accolades and medals at wine competitions around the world ever since the maiden vintages of the Cabernet and Chardonnay achieved 4 and 5 star ratings from the prestigious John Platter Guide in 2004. The philosophy in both the vineyards and cellar follows a minimum intervention approach to ensure the quality of the fruit shines through.
Winemaker's Notes:
The appearance is clean and bright with a pale gold colour. There is a lot happening on the nose, rich citrus, almond and greenage overlaid by fragrant lime. The ripeness of the fruit fleshes out the palate; the creamy taste combines well with the lime acidity and gives freshness, lifting and lengthening the flavours. A definite wood character but complements the wine well. Best enjoyed with cheese, pastas and seafood.
