Bottle Description
Notes:
This Chateauneuf-du-Pape Rouge, a blend of 60% Grenache, 25% Syrah and 15% Mourvèdre has a bright cherry and garnet colour. It is a powerful, aromatic wine with perfumes of ripe strawberries and brambles, and an attractive tarry note lent by the Mourvèdre. On the palate it is full-bodied, with a touch of spicy oak from the Syrah and ripe, rounded Grenache tannins. It has pleasing length and spicy vanilla on the finish. A very classy drop!
ROBERT PARKER 88-90 'The 2005 Chateauneuf du Pape has more saturated ruby/purple color than its counterpart in 2004. Opulently styled for the vintage, with silky tannins, a generous, well-endowed palate with full body, ripe tannins, low acidity, and an overall seductive personality, drink it over the next 7-8 years.
These are modern-style Chateauneuf du Papes. Vaudieu has a splendid location just to the south of Rayas, and I am among many others who have been waiting for the quality from these impressively situated vineyards to soar.'

I can confirm that wine is drinking really nicely right now. Lovely rich warm finish. Lingers for ages. Full spicy palate. Traditional CNDP nose. Very approachable. A perfect roast dinner wine or for enjoying in front of the fire!
