Tasting Notes:
Saint-Veran is an underrated source of White Burgundy and deserves greater prominence, which it will find, if its growers maintain the consistency they have demonstrated in several recent vintages. Domaine Roger Luquet is a single estate and the wine, which is 100% Chardonnay, has a pale gold colour. It has a restrained bouquet with some elegant fruit, which develops into citrus characteristics on a palate, which hints of richness. It is one of those wines that can be described as solid and dependable with backbone, a total contrast to many of the overt New World styles.
Food Pairings:
It will suit those with quite dry palates and will be ideal either as an aperitif, or with fish courses and poultry. Amazing value for money and better than many Pouilly-Fuissés that sell at double the price.
