JIM MURRAY'S WHISKY BIBLE - 91 POINTS - 'amazingly spicy - a bit like the old 1608! - with clean but lively sherry and freshish malt. This is one crackerjack nose; stunning: the sweetness is exemplary as its sits snugly between the enormity of the fruit and the clarity of the malt. Somewhere in there is a raisiny sheen; dropped points for a toffee - caramel finale, which undermines some of the compllexity. Even so, the sherry remains lip - smacking and the spices behave themselves; the quality of the sherry used boggles the mind. Remains a true classic.'
