Description
Bouchard Finlayson is located in Walker Bay, mid-way between Cape Point and Cape Agulhas (the most southerly tip of Africa). The climate is largely influenced by the nearby cold Atlantic Ocean, making it one of the coolest wine-growing areas in the Cape. Their wines reflect true terroir with rich minerally flavours. This wine has a strong vibrant aroma, tropical fruits of pineapple, litchi and granadilla. This is followed by a firm crisp palate signalling a determined structure with parallel fruit calling one straight back to the glass! Sauvignon blanc is our eternal crowd pleaser! Where each year Bouchard Finlayson bottle it fresh while the fragrance is bright and a loving palate displays its certainty as South Africa's best performing white wine. The geographic location lying within five kilometres of the cool Atlantic Ocean offers the best temperature zone that the Cape can contribute. Added to this is the heavy shale clay soil which typifies the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley and lends an inviting tropical tone to the flavour profile of this vintage. Suitable for vegetarians.
