Useful Bottle Information
We've reached 2017 and if, during the next 12 months, you are celebrating an occasion from 1967 then I am delighted to announce the release of a classic 50 year old Port. Taylor's extensive and enviable library of very old Ports includes a number of casks of single harvest Ports, patiently awaiting bottling and release. Every year, Taylor's makes a limited release of a Single Harvest Port made 50 years previously, with very slow and gentle contact with seasoned wood and oxygen. The fourth in this series is the 1967 Single Harvest of exceptional character, which has received 98 points from Wine Spectator.
Often referred to as Colheitas, these single harvest Tawny ports are a far cry from vintage port. Extended ageing in oak casks creates ports of extreme aromatic complexity with delightfully mellow structures. The 1967 is a perfect follow-up to their outstanding 1966, it is superb now but also has plenty of life ahead. Comes beautifully boxed.
