The Arran 25 Year Old celebrates the island distillery's 25 years of distilling! This expression was initially matured in a combination of 35% ex-sherry and 65% ex-bourbon casks, and then re-casked in first-fill and refill sherry hogsheads before bottling at 46% abv. Just 3,000 bottles have been produced
Nose: Fantastic sherry nose. Full of dark fruits, sweet citrus, and sweet cherries. Spices, bitter almonds, caramel and some dried fruits. After a while some mature figs and dates. What a great start!
Palate: The body is well balanced. Caramel, light chocolate, very creamy and with a little pepper after a while. Then some apricot jam appears with mature raisins and almonds.
Finish: Medium to long with caramel, fudge and very creamy. A little bitterness of oak wood, some almonds, toffee and mild spices.
