Description

Earthy nose, almost musty, but piercing fragrance and silky texture, lovely on the palate, with that old wine magic.

Bernard and Francois Giroud continue the family tradition of buying wine made from choice parcels of low-yielding, old vines wines that age and age. Bottles from Maison Giroud date back to the 1930's and they have been some of the most spectacular examples of aged Burgundy. The cellars here are among the coldest in all of Burgundy, allowing the wine to evolve slowly and evenly. There is virtually no new oak used, and the wines are rustic and powerful.
