Description

The Guinaudeau family has owned and lived in Château Grand Village since 1650. They have made tremendous efforts to improve the quality of the wine, to be a worthy stablemate to Lafleur.
"The 2016 Grand Village is absolutely delicious. Pliant, supple and generous, the Grand Village is a real standout in 2016. The interplay of mid-palate juiciness and bright acids that are such a signature of the year make for a compelling wine. A closing burst of red fruit and blood orange adds an exclamation point to this gorgeous and expressive wine from the Guinaudeau family. The 2016 is a fabulous wine by any measure. Don't miss it. THE WINE ADVOCATE 92 points
Drink Date: 2023 - 2038, The 2018 Grand Village is a blend of 78% Merlot and 22% Cabernet Franc. Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, it comes galloping out of the glass with powerful notes of baked plums, mulberries and stewed black cherries, plus hints of tar, licorice, garrigue and black truffles. Medium to full-bodied, the palate explodes with bombastic black fruits and an exciting burst of freshness, framed by ripe, rounded tannins, finishing long and earthy. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, 31st Mar 2021
