ROBERT PARKER The Wine Advocate - 96 points - Drink: NOW - 2022 - Reviewed by: Lisa Perrotti-Brown , 25rd December 2010 "Medium garnet in color, the 2004 Shiraz Command Elderton Estate is a little mute at this stage, revealing subtle to moderate aromas of leather, sandalwood and spice over warm blackberry plus some mocha. Full-bodied with medium-firm fine tannins, complex evolving flavors and a great line of acid, the finish is very long. Give it another year or 2 for the nose to emerge from this closed stage."
The jewel here is the 8 acre estate vineyard planted in 1894 by Samuel Elderton Tolley that produces the Command Shiraz. Since 2003 they’ve had their own winery and now produce around 40-50000 cases per year with winemaker Richard Langford adeptly forging these amazing wines.
