The winegrowing tradition of the Counts of Schönborn in the Rheingau began as early as 1349. In the 17th century, many vineyards were added through the acquisitions of Johann Philipp von Schönborn, archbishop and elector of Mainz. Like no other winery in the Rheingau, the domain winery Schloss Schönborn has about 50 hectares of vineyards in almost all renowned Rheingau locations from Hochheim to Assmannshausen.
Grape variety: 100% Pinot Noir - This is a fabulously light and open-minded Pinot Noir with cherry flavours, pleasant and clear fruit and enchanting intensity. Well balanced on the palate, medium-bodied and with delicate tannins. Every sip revives. Ideal with game goulash with cranberries.
