Bright pale-garnet with cherry-red hues. Alluring spicy aromas of red cherries, red currants, wild berries and rosehip with supporting nuances of strawberry leaf, dried herbs, musk and baking spices. Rich and textural, the palate shows flavours of wild forest fruits, black cherries and hints of fennel, with precise acidity forming a tight mineral core, and elegant, fine tannins leading to a long, savoury finish.
This has a very attractive red-cherry core of fruit with baked berry pastry and quite supple, fleshy and mouthwatering fruit intensity. There’s a fresh, crunchy and fleshy feel here with a wealth of plush, attractive and fleshy fruit at the finish. James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com, 26 June 2019
