Il Faggio (with a soft g) is the Italian for beech tree, of which there are acres and acres in the national park of Abruzzo.It is as much a symbol of the Abruzzo as the native Montepulciano grape, which is widely planted in the region.
The Montepulciano grape makes fruity, deep flavoured reds, robust wines and Il Faggio is especially full of berry flavours with easy, rounded tannins. Great to drink by itself or with pork chop, vegetarian casserole or pizza. Full bodied. We really love this and it's a must have for your everyday drinking rack!
