Reunion is the joint project of Gerhard Kracher, who continues the legacy of the award-winning Alois Kracher, and Gerald Wieder. The pair have decided to work together again to create a wine that takes the best grapes from Neckermark and uses them for a Blaufrankisch with powerful intensity but an elegant finish. The grapes are matured half in used and half in new oak. The result is a wine with ripe, rich plums, cherries, allspice and leather with a smooth tannin and silky finish.

Drink now or happily age for five years.

Pairs beautifully with: Roast lamb, red potato goulash, smoked sausage or cheese toasties. Also superb with pizza, lasagne or burger and chips. Cheese pairing: Morbier, mature Cheddar or creamy Comte.

Expert Comments from Erik, our Town Shop Manager

"BBQ? Lamb, burgers or sausages? You want #Blaufrankisch!

#Blaufränkisch (Lemberger, Kékfrankos, Frankovka Modrá) is Central European variety, mostly know from Austria.
Dark skin, late ripening grape, producing dry, medium bodied red wines with good structure, typically richer in tannin and with higher acidity.

Kracher & Wieder Blaufrankisch has lovely aromas of ripe sour cherries, black berries, spice, herbs and leather. Nice freshness and concentration on palate, dense, focused and complex. Tannins are very smooth and soft. This beauty is punching much over it’s weight at this price!

Recommended in Hugh Johnson’s Pocket wine book as one of the top 10 red wines to taste in 2021."
