This property was purchased by Valpolicella producer, Marilisa Allegrini, in 2006. Marilisa has continued to invest heavily in the estate and has brought in winemaker Nicola Biasi to build on Poggio San Polo's already considerable reputation and impressive levels of quality. Situated in the eastern part of Montalcino, this estate covers 22 hectares of which 16 are under vine and produces wines that are classic in style but with a bit more weight than would be found to the north of the zone.

97 points James Suckling - "A rich, layered red with blackberry and chocolate, as well as cured-meat and wet-earth undertones. It’s full-bodied with depth, intensity and focus. Lovely, velvety tannins and a long, creamy-textured mouth feel. Generous finish with tension. Better than 2015. Try after 2024."

93 points Jeb Dunnuck - "The 2016 Brunello di Montalcino is highly aromatic with sweet cherry fruit, aniseed, fresh flowers, and tomato leaf. The palate is brisk with fresh tea leaf, orange zest, and tart raspberry. It is medium-bodied with a drying tannic structure. Approachable and polished, you should feel welcome to open this now or over the next 10-15 years. 2021-2035."
