Description

Located close to the Danube River in Southern Slovakia near the Hungarian border, Château Belá’s 20 vineyard estate has been producing wines since 2001. Under the supervision of one of the world's most acclaimed winemakers, German superstar Egon Müller, Château Béla is home to some of Slovakia's finest Rieslings. The variety known locally as Rizling Rýnsky, yields wines noted for the energetic drive, purity of fruit and minerality on the palate. In addition to their stunning Rieslings, Château Béla is also renowned for their bold, robust Cabernet Sauvignon as well as their sweet straw and ice wines.

A surprisingly refined Riesling whose limely flavours and a texture are reminiscent of classic German Riesling, yet retaining a mout-watering mineral crispness on the finish revealing its wild edges.

Tasting notes from the judges of the Sommelier Wine Awards - "'An interesting wine with some aromatic notes of tropical fruit and candied lemon, leading to a good palate with balanced acidity.' Lionel Periner, team leader. 'A floral, honeyed nose with ripe fruit and some green apple acidity. A very enjoyable wine, and versatile for food." Lukas Nikanorovas, 20 Stories.

Suggested food pairings: Sushi, sashimi, shellfish, or try it with Thai and Vietnamese cuisine but it also works well as an aperitif and with butter cooked fish and poultry.
