Description

2012 - THE WINE ADVOCATE Rating: 93 points - Drink Date: 2014 - 2026 - "As always, the 2012 Chateauneuf du Pape Mourre des Perdrix (70% Grenache, 14% Syrah, 14% Mourvedre and the balance assorted varieties) is the most elegant and seamless of the three special cuvees. Notes of raspberries, black cherries, flowers and spice all show in this medium-bodied, silky, ultra-fine Chateauneuf du Pape that can be enjoyed anytime over the coming decade." - Jeb Dunnuck.
2013 - "Sandy soils in the eponymous and nicely named lieu-dit are at the root of this excellent example, the blend being Grenache (60 percent) and 20 percent each of Syrah and Mourvèdre. Kirsch and loganberry make for welcoming aromatics and the palate is silky and long. Distinctive and distinctly feminine, this cuvée provides a most eloquent counter-blast to those who decry the philosophy of multiple blends." Simon Field MW
