Description

Since the late 1980s, Jean-Marc Roulot has been at the helm of the family domaine in Meursault and, with fastidious attention to detail and no shortage of winemaking talent, he has elevated the wines of Domaine Roulot to the highest echelons of Burgundy.

This is a charming Auxey-Duresses 1er Cru Rouge from a 0.73ha plot of 30-40-year-old vines. Fully destemmed, cold-soaked and fermented in open top wooden ‘cuves’, followed by around 15 months in barrel, the emphasis here is on terroir expression and purity of fruit. This an aromatically complex and crystalline Pinot Noir that will both drink beautifully in youth and age for at least a decade.
