Description
Most famous appellation of Chablis, this Grand Cru has a south exposure and a soil from the Kimmeridgen, very rocky with white and dense clays. Our big parcel of 3 ha in one big piece, goes from the bottom of the hill, nearly up to the top, which allows us to divide it in three different parcels (the bottom, the middle and the top). They are always vinified separately but blended all together at the end to make one cuvée. The average age of the vines is 50 to 60 years old.
Matthew Jukes on 2023 vintage - "This is my favourite Chablis of the vintage, and it shows Grand Cru sophistication while wearing a Premier Cru price tag. You cannot go wrong here. I have just finished drinking my 2017, and while this vintage had more acid in the tank when it was born, I imagine that this 2023 will make it to 2030 with ease. This is unmissable whether you have too much wine or not! 18+/20."
