Description
THE WINE ADVOCATE Rating 89
"Lively and charming, Leflaive's 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Village delivers aromas of almond past, fresh pastry, white flowers and crisp orchard fruit. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, it's succulent and expressive, with an open-knit core, lively acids and a nicely defined finish. Drink 2022 - 2042"

Drinking window: 2021 - 2030
The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Village has a taut, crisp bouquet with scents of wet limestone, sea spray and green apple. There is fine delineation here, and more intensity than I was anticipating for a Village Cru. The palate is well balanced with subtle passion fruit and citrus notes on the entry, good weight in the mouth and fine acidity, though not as complex on the finish as other Village Crus I have tasted from Leflaive. Therefore I suspect this will be ideal for early drinking. - Neal Martin. Tasting date: October 2019
2022 VINTAGE
The nose is subdued with a subtle insinuating white fruit perfume, sherbet-fresh. The palate is purely, cleanly flavoured as if holding the natural sunny disposition of the vintages on a tight rein, then builds slowly to a measured, steady, supple, rich finish.
VINOUS 92 points
Drinking window: 2025 - 2032
The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Village has a nicely detailed bouquet of green apples. It's a touch spicier than the Bourgogne Blanc, with a trace of walnut coming through with aeration. The palate is nicely balanced with a keen line of acidity, sour lemon hints and, again, that spice that lingers on the aftertaste. - Neal Martin. Tasting date: June 2024
