Gentle red fruits rise from the glass. In the mouth it's attractively bright and youthful, with citrus and cranberry notes.The very fresh acidity and primary fruits give way to autolytic notes and cappuccino with time, followed by a long, savoury, saline finish.

A succulent, delicious and precise brut rosé, made of chardonnay, pinot meunier and pinot noir. It has notes of wild currants, peach skin and mild spices. It’s medium-bodied and vivid with fine bubbles and plenty of succulence. Sour cherries and redcurrants on the palate. Fresh acidity and a comforting, fruity character to the delicious finish. Aromas of rose, peony, red berries and guava preface the NV Brut Rosé, a medium to full-bodied, elegant and vinous Champagne rosé that concludes with a long, ethereal finish enhanced by menthol notes. A blend of 45% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir and 20% Pinot Meunier, it's based on the 2014 vintage with 46% vins de réserve from nine different vintages and the addition of 6% as a red wine, vinified and matured in stainless steel. Dosage: 4.7 grams per liter.

With its ubiquitous pink label, Billecart's NV Brut Rosé is one of the most recognizable bottles in all of Champagne. It is so important for wines like this to be good, as they are symbols for the region. This release is especially fine. Cranberry, pink grapefruit and white flowers caress the palate. Deep, pliant and so expressive, the Brut Rosé is terrific. There is a touch of angularity, but that is easy to look past for a Champagne that delivers so much pleasure. - Antonio Galloni

Bright coppery pink. A pretty strawberries-and-cream nose that leads straight to raspberries galore in the mouth. Blood orange, too, with a suggestion of tamarind chutney. Frankly fruity and frankly delicious. The balance is just right for food – in fact the wine was surprisingly good with a rich, slow-cooked pheasant red-wine casserole, and equally good with roasted tomato-and-courgette frittata the following day.
