Description
The 2013 Dom Pérignon Blanc vintage embodies elegance, fullness, and classic refinement. Born from a challenging year marked by extremes, it spent around 10 years aging in the cellar, developing its harmonious complexity. Disgorged recently, it reveals a lively nose of crisp stone fruit, tangerine oil, buttered toast, pear, almonds, and honey. The palate is medium to full-bodied, seamless, with bright acidity, a pillowy texture, and a long saline finish. Aromas of baked apple, bread dough, and subtle mineral nuances define its rich yet refined profile. Highly praised with 95+ points from The Wine Advocate, James Suckling 93, and 96 from Decanter, it is a stunning example of balanced, mature Champagne, ready to be enjoyed now or cellared for further development.
THE WINE ADVOCATE 95+ - Drink
Date 2023 - 2043 - Disgorged in October last year, the 2013 Dom Pérignon is a lovely wine, defined by the long, cool growing season. Offering up aromas of crisp stone fruit, tangerine oil, buttered toast, pear, almonds and clear honey, it's medium to full-bodied, ample and seamless, with bright acids and a pillowy, enveloping profile, concluding with a long, saline finish. Vincent Chaperon recalls that shatter at fruit set moderated yields and that a drying east wind in the weeks before harvest helped to maintain the good sanitation necessary to wait to pick at full maturity.
JAMES SUCKLING 93 points
A creamy-textured Champagne with fine bubbles that are numerous and textural. It’s full-bodied and rounded with lovely bread dough and cooked apple, as well as just a hint of stone and mineral. It’s long, dry and satisfying at the finish. 41% chardonnay and 38% pinot noir, the rest pinot meunier. Drink now.

Silky, narrowly sculpted and serene, Dom Pérignon 2013 is a less hedonistic release than the 2012 (and less intensely energetic than the 2008), but showcases a beautiful mid-place between tension and expressiveness already. Orange-coloured fruit – apricots, mango and orange – play along with snappy lemon syrup and delicate red fruits, the palate teased into considerable detail and length with some trademark Dom Pérignon smokiness. There is immediate pleasure here, although cellaring will let some of the inner complexity unfurl, revealing this to the among the finest Dom Pérignon releases of recent times. 51% Pinot Noir, 49% Chardonnay.
