The 2006 Krug Brut is a remarkable vintage, expressing the warmth and richness of a truly exceptional year. With a complex bouquet of tarte tatin, burnt biscuits, ginger, honeycomb, dried white flowers, smoke, and toasted nuts, it offers a full-bodied, textured palate with a broad, fleshy attack. Its elegance unfolds into a vibrant, well-defined profile, showcasing delicately chalky structure and a long, lively finish. Disgorged in December 2016 after 11 years on lees, it exudes class and balance. Critics highly praise this vintage: 97 points from Wine Advocate and VinoUS, 96 from James Suckling, and 95 from Decanter. An outstanding choice for those seeking a deeply layered Champagne capable of aging beautifully for decades.

"Krug's superb 2006 Brut, which will be released this year, numbers among the vintage's high points, unfurling in the glass with a complex and expressive bouquet of tarte tatin, warm biscuits, ginger, honeycomb, dried white flowers, smoke and toasted nuts. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, broad and textural, with a fleshy attack that reflects the warm vintage but segues into a beautifully vibrant palate that's deep and surprisingly reserved, displaying superb definition, delicately chalky structure and a long, lively finish. While this is a powerful vintage Krug, it's also beautifully balanced and will give immense pleasure for decades."

The 2006 Vintage is a rich, opulent Champagne. Passion fruit, apricot, tangerine peel and spice all show the signs of a warm, radiant year. All the elements are so well balanced. The 2006 is an especially opulent Krug endowed with fabulous balance and tons of class. Warm weather during the summer yielded an extroverted Champagne that is already quite delicious. There was some disease pressure in August, but favorable weather in September helped stave that off. The rich, dense style of the 2006 stands in sharp contrast to the 2004 and 2008 in this tasting. Disgorged: Spring 2019. Krug ID: 219022.

This is a very deep and layered vintage Champagne with a round, ample mouth feel. It’s full-bodied with lots of cooked apple and mirabelle, as well as biscuit undertones. Hints of stone and flint. It’s flavorful. Delicious now and will age beautifully. Drink or hold.

The 2006 is an alluring, intense golden colour, with sensuous aromas of yellow peach and quince from the very grand Pinot Noir, whose aromatics are apparent on the palate too. The Chardonnay also takes a bow with hints of dried apricot, hazelnut and almond. This has a lovely mouthfeel - so generous and deep yet silky and seductive. Notes of frangipane and tarte tatin are given poise by fresh citrus fruits. The lingering finish displays the complexity from 11 years on lees and 24 months post-disgorgement ageing. Great with Moroccan lamb tagine. Disgorged December 2016. Dosage 6g/l . This can be enjoyed straight away.
