Part of The best non-vintage Champagnes to buy
Utterly delicious, totally fruit-driven and with surprising finesse, this is just the second Ruinart Brut Rosé cuvée produced by Fred Panaiotis, the young, highly talented new chef de caves. If he keeps this up, Ruinart, the oldest Champagne house, could be a superstar in the making.

JAMES SUCKLING 93 points
Very attractive, bright and fragrant red fruits on the nose here. This has a wealth of fresh yeasty characters, fresh pastry and bread dough, plus red fruits, pink grapefruit, and some floral notes too. The palate has a strong nectarine and light cherry flavor thread. Chardonnay has a lot to say here; the texture is creamy and the balance right on the money. Drink now.

VINOUS 92 points
Light orange. Sharply focused red berry and tangerine scents are complicated by suggestions of allspice and cinnamon, with a hint of smokiness in the background. Sappy and minerally on the palate, offering fresh strawberry and blood orange flavors lifted by juicy acidity. Packs a serious punch but carries no excess weight and finishes stony and very long, with echoing red berry character. - Josh Raynolds

Based on the 2021 vintage and including 30% reserve wines, the most recent release of Ruinart’s NV Brut Rosé was disgorged in March 2024 with a dosage of eight grams per liter. It reveals aromas of pomegranate, dark cherry, redcurrant and blood orange, mingling with cranberry, brioche and a touch of rooibos. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and elegantly muscular, vinous and layered, with lively acidity and a perfumed, saline-tinged finish. Harmoniously balanced, it is among the most compelling in its category

JANCIS ROBINSON 16 points
Pale orange. Small bead and appetising nose. Tight and focused with both fruit and grip, and a core of fruit that tastes a little like orange juice. But the finish is a little sweet so this is not the most appetising pink champagne. Nice texture though and very much an aperitif style. (JR)

ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Ruinart is one of the oldest and most prestigious Champagne houses, founded in 1729 in Reims, France. With a history that spans nearly three centuries, Ruinart is renowned for its commitment to quality and tradition in sparkling wine production. The house was established by Nicolas Ruinart, who recognized the potential of Champagne and the growing popularity of enhanced wine, particularly among the elite of the period.

Ruinart is especially celebrated for its elegant and refined Champagnes, with a primary focus on Chardonnay, which is evident in its flagship cuvée, **Ruinart Blanc de Blancs**. This wine is known for its bright acidity, floral aromas, and notes of citrus and white fruits, reflecting the house's dedication to purity and finesse. The winery also produces a range of other exceptional cuvées, including the classic **Ruinart Rosé** and the prestigious **Dom Ruinart**.

The vineyards of Ruinart are located in some of the finest terroirs of Champagne, including the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims, which provide the grapes with unique characteristics and complexity. The winery places a strong emphasis on sustainable practices, and the aging process is conducted in ancient crayères (chalk cellars) that provide optimal conditions for maturing the wines.

Ruinart's Champagnes are characterized by their elegance, balance, and aromatic complexity, making them highly sought after by collectors and connoisseurs. With a deep respect for its heritage and a commitment to innovation, Ruinart continues to be a leader in the Champagne industry, representing the epitome of luxury and quality in sparkling wines. Whether celebrating special occasions or simply enjoying with friends, Ruinart remains synonymous with sophistication and enjoyment.
