Description

The September 2022 release of Cask Strength from Ardnamurchan, this year's sees the folks at the distillery opt for a higher percentage of peated whisky compared to previous releases, aged in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, alongside unpeated, sherry-aged malt. Bottled at 58.4%, and non-chill filtered, this is a Highland single malt that's certainly on the smokier side. Nose: Waves of maritime smoke, with oaky vanilla, and lemon zest. Palate: Coastal peat, with ripe summer berries, warm oak, and gentle, peppery spice. Finish: The peat lingers, with gentle seaweed salinity (notes from Master of Malt).
