The Gauldrons Campbeltown Malt Scotch Whisky tells the story of the eponymous dark, stormy coves on Campbeltown’s west shores, and literally means “Bay of Storms”. A marriage of the finest Campbeltown Malts, bottled in very small batches at 46.2% ABV, and proudly without colouring or chill-filtration. The Gauldrons is one of Douglas Laing's Remarkable Regional Malts.
Occupying a remote location, even by Campbeltown’s standards, on the extreme west coast of Scotland, The Gauldrons literally means “bay of storms”. But, it’s not just the dark storm clouds that set the pulse racing here and set the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end… Part of the Remarkable Regional Malts range, the ultimate distillation of Scotland’s Malt Whisky Regions.
Sweet cereals, with a note of iodine and sweet spices on the nose. On the palate it's slightly coastal, with smooth peat and gentle wood spice. A touch of salted caramel is there, as is a little brown sugar and smokey barley. A medium finish, with notes of vanilla, robust peat and sea salt.
