Description
Bottled for the UK market circa mid-1980s, this fruity, peaty bottling remains unique in its lack of Royal Warrant, its 75cl bottle size (which was outlawed on the 1st January 1990) and its slightly higher abv of 43%.
The bottle itself is in excellent condition with its fill level still well into the neck. Bottle is sold as seen and we cannot accept any liability for the state of closure.

A Deeper Dive;
Laphroaig Distillery
Laphroaig Distillery, situated on the southern coast of Islay in Scotland was founded in 1815 by Donald and Alexandrina Johnston boasting a rich history intertwined with tradition and innovation. This iconic distillery utilizes locally sourced barley, malting on-site, while the nearby peat bogs provide the signature smoky flavour that defines its whiskies.
Set against stunning coastal scenery and rolling hills, Laphroaig benefits from the pure spring water sourced from the Kilbride Stream, which enhances the quality of its spirits. With a diverse range of expressions, from the classic 10-Year-Old to the intensely peated Quarter Cask and limited editions, Laphroaig continues to exemplify the craftsmanship and heritage that underscore its esteemed reputation in the whisky world.
Perched on the shoreline, Laphroaig is exposed to the full force of the Hebridean Sea, creating a distinctive and resilient atmosphere. The distillery's name translates from Gaelic as "the beautiful hollow by a broad bay," perfectly capturing its serene surroundings. Alongside us flows the cherished Kilbride Stream, while the rich Islay peatland has been a vital part of its whisky-making tradition for over 200 years.
