As the exclusive Jersey importer for Marchesi Antinori and ahead of the Tignanello release, I am delighted to offer a very limited allocation of the 2024 Cervaro della Sala. Delivery is expected in May or June, with complimentary storage in our new temperature and humidity-controlled facility until 30 April next year. About The Wine
From the historic Castello della Sala estate near Orvieto, Cervaro della Sala is a masterful blend of Chardonnay and Grechetto that exemplifies the finesse of Italian white winemaking. Vines grow on clay and calcareous soils rich in fossil shells at 220 to 470 metres above sea level, benefitting from marked diurnal temperature variation. Malolactic fermentation and ageing in barriques, followed by bottle refinement, produce a wine of impressive structure and poise with vibrant citrus and floral notes, delicate hazelnut complexity, a pronounced mineral thread and a long, refined finish.
The Estate
Part of the Antinori portfolio since 1940, Castello della Sala became a centre for innovation in the 1970s under Piero Antinori and winemaker Renzo Cotarella. The property extends over 500 hectares, with 170 hectares planted with vines.
