Description
The Boigelot family have been cultivating vines since 1918. Eric learned his craft at Coche-Dury before founding his own 3.5h Domaine in Monthélie where his family have had land for generations. Today Eric and his wife Patricia tend 9h around Meursault, Monthélie, Volnay, and Pommard. The Boigelots relocated the winery to Meursault in 1998. Eric is now joined by his son, Charles who followed in his father’s footsteps, working for 3 years with Coche-Dury, 1 year with Paul Pillot and Henri Germain.
Meursault "Les Clous" comes from 100-year-old vines located on the higher slopes, on a hillside facing east, near the forest line. It is aged in oak for 15 months with 25% new oak. This has a complex and engaging bouquet with an impressive silky palate.
Neal Martin for Vinous - 4 stars, 90-91 points
:"Grown on a notably white soil. Full lemon and lime colour, definitely a touch of toast on the nose. This toasty reduction from fine lees continues on the palate. Excellent persistence, very promising." Drink from 2028-2030. Tasted Oct 2025.
