Description
Organic practices have been long used by the Domaine but 2024 was the first certified vintage. Yields were down 60% with 2025 smaller than average too. In fact François Frères made Felettig different barrel sizes than usual so the barrel could be filled, including a 400L for the Gevrey and a half barrel for the Chambolle 8 Climats. Gilbert used no whole bunch in 2024, the grapes were in fine condition but not the stems. Pigeage was only used at the end of the fermentation. Harvest began on the 16th September and finished on the 24th in the Hautes-Côtes.
In 2024, three cuveés have been blended together for this Cuvee - Clos Le Village, Derrière Le Four, and Vieilles Vignes.
Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy 89-91 points
:"With individual plots such as Clos Village and purchased Derriere le Four included, the Chambolle Vieilles Vignes counts as negociant in 2024. Dark ruby to purple in colour. The nose has a certain depth of fruit, fresher raspberry with good acidity on the palate. A tiny bit saline even without whole bunches. Not forceful but interesting and quite persistent." Drink from 2028-2033. Tasted Nov 2025.
