Nathalie & Gilles Févré is a respected wine estate located in the Chablis region of Burgundy, France. Known for its high-quality Chardonnay wines, the domaine has gained a strong reputation for producing expressive and terroir-driven wines. With vineyards situated in some of the finest crus of Chablis, Nathalie and Gilles Févré emphasize sustainable farming practices to maintain the health of their vines and the integrity of the terroir. Their wines are characterized by vibrant acidity, minerality, and intricate flavors, which are hallmarks of the Chablis style.

No two ways about it - 2024 was a very tough year for the Fèvres. In addition to contending with the mildew that threatened all of Burgundy, there was a devastating hailstorm that came down from the North and annihilated vines around Fourchaume - in total they lost around 95% of the harvest.

The Fourchaume 1er Cru comes from a selection of 10ha of east facing vines on marl soils, planted mainly between 1952 and 1989. It is one of the most noted Chablis 1ers crus, originates from vineyards situated on long slopes facing the sunrise, allowing rapid soil warm up which aids quality maturing. Vinification and ageing on fine lees during 12 months.

:"Pale yellow. More wood than usual, though of course no new wood. Opulent, lemon cream, a touch of sandalwood. Opulent and then with youthful bitters, no obvious acidity, a respectable wine has been conjured up, but it is hard to read Fourchaume under these conditions. Drink from 2027-2029. Tasted Jun 2025."
