I am very excited to be making our second offer from this amazing estate run by such a beautiful family; Drew, Rae, Indi & Harper Noon (and of course their new Mastiff, Maple).

95% of their entire production, which is only very small, is sold to their 2000-strong, loyal mailing list who they write to (yes write to) personally each vintage offering them a small allocation. Whatever is left (and this is not a lot) is sold at the cellar door where people camp out with barbeques to be the first in the queue, so they don’t miss out with some sneakily returning in disguise attempting to grab a little more.

When Ollie and I were there in January last year we tasted the 2024 Grenache, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon varietals from barrel and quite a few back vintages of all the wines and they are simply sublime and age incredibly well. They will be wines that we will do our best to get as much of as possible when they are released in the future.

I can offer a VERY small quantity of their 2024 Eclipse and 2024 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve. These wines will be in Jersey in 6-8 weeks’ time.

They are price at £240 for a case of 6 or buy one of each for £450 (£225 each).

ABOUT THIS WINE
The grapes for Noon Eclipse are picked from three unirrigated vineyards surrounding the winery in McLaren Vale; Grenache bush vines, which were planted in 1934 and 1943, as well as Shiraz and Graciano bush vines which were planted between 1998 and 2001. Noon Eclipse, together with Noon Reserve Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon remain some of the most desirable, yet scarce wines made in Australia today.

WHAT DREW NOON SAYS ABOUT THIS VINTAGE - What a pretty and refined Eclipse we have this year. It demonstrates the legitimacy of the claim that Grenache is like warm-climate Pinot Noir. It has a wonderful roundness of texture in the mouth and fills your palate with soft fruit flavour. It also reflects the conditions of the vintage clearly, possessing a lighter colour than usual due to the larger crop and the cooler summer. But the purity of fruit is beautiful, and the silky mouthfeel is divine. A very attractive wine for drinking now through until 2030+. Produced from 92% Grenache, 4% Shiraz and 4% Graciano

PS Good to know… Eclipse production from 2025 was half that of this release due to the drought so we will have to tighten the limit next year
