Description

Patrick Javillier is now one of Meursault's best growers. An electrical engineer by training, he later studied oenology in Dijon before taking over his father's small Meursault estate. He gradually expanded the vineyard holdings to over 9 hectares and has been estate bottling his wines since 1990. Patrick is one of the most reflective of white wine makers, the walls of his cellars and the sides of his barrels being covered in chalk where he has been developing one or another of his theories. Most of the wines are taken out of barrel after a year, then matured further in tank on their fine lees.

Les Tillets is a village-level site at the top of the hill. The domaine has seven parcels, a total of 1.7 hectares. There’s an attractive note of elderflower on the nose, along with various citrus and floral hints and a delightful touch of honey. There’s some light oak spice on the palate though tangy pear and citrus fruit shines through.

:"The 2024 Meursault Les Tillets is clean and precise on the nose, citrus lemon, lime and light lemon curd scents unfolding in the glass. The palate is well balanced, very cohesive with deftly integrated oak. I admire the nascent tension of this Les Tillets, with a strictness but paradoxical intensity that keeps you engaged. I suspect that this will age with class."
