Ridge's Three Valleys Zinfandel, first released in 2001, is made from fruit which is sourced from ten vineyards across Sonoma County. Here, the vines flourish in diverse gravelly loam and clay soils and range from ten to over a hundred years old. The 2024 vintage includes ten vineyards, with Zinfandel as the dominant variety, complemented by old-vine Carignane, Petite Sirah, Mataro, and Alicante Bouschet.

The season began cool, before warm to hot weather from early June condensed the harvest period. Fruit was hand-harvested, fermented with native yeasts at both Monte Bello and Lytton Springs, and matured for twelve months in air-dried American oak barrels. True to Ridge’s minimal-intervention philosophy, the wine maintains purity and depth, supported by balanced natural acidity (TA 5.74 g/L, pH 3.69).

The 2024 Three Valleys is rich and expressive, opening with aromas of black raspberry, liquorice and cedar. The medium-bodied palate reveals concentrated flavours of black tea, cherry and vanilla, carried by well-integrated acidity and smooth, refined tannins. This is a harmonious blend that captures the fruit intensity, structure and unmistakable Sonoma terroir that defines Three Valleys. Since its inception, Ridge has focused on single-vineyard wines. Rather than reflecting a single vineyard, Three Valleys showcases the complexity of Sonoma’s diverse terroirs. A cool spring and warm summer led to a balanced, expressive wine, crafted from a range of grape varieties. Enjoyable now, this wine will continue to develop over the next five years. SR (4/25)
