This fine, 13 hectare domaine was formed in 1990 when Jacques Rossignol built the domaine based on his wife’s share of the Trapet family vines. His sons, Nicolas and David, converted the estate to biodynamic viticulture and took the wines to amongst the very finest in Gevrey-Chambertin. After 35 years, the brothers are preparing to divide the estate again as their respective children take over. Nicolas is building a new winery across the road whilst David and his daughters, Annabelle and Agathe, who currently helps Nicolas make the wine, will continue to use the existing cellars. The plan is to vinify the 2026 crop separately.

The 2024 harvest was completed in five days from 15th to 19th September and, after a careful sorting of the bunches, the brothers decided to destem all the fruit and reduce the amount délestage and remontage. There was no pigeage at all. Yields were low following a poor flowering and loss of crop to mildew, averaging 15hl/ha in the Côte de Nuits and 25hl/ha in the Côte de Beaune. Ageing was, as usual, in 228 litre French oak barrels from tonnelleries Rousseau (80%) and Chassin (20%).

The Beaune vineyards suffered less rain than those further north and were a great success in 2024. Ripe and fruity with high quality tannins and a persistent aftertaste. Drink 2027-2030.
