Sassicaia 2023 - 1 x Case x 6 Bottles (100 Points)

The 2023 vintage was marked by a cold winter and above-average rainfall followed by a severe outbreak of downy mildew that damaged leaves, forcing brutal fruit selection and resulting in a 20% reduction in yields. Only the estates willing to make these sacrifices succeeded, and the best wines rank among the most compelling and elusive of recent years.”

 “The blend includes 13% to 14% Cabernet Franc alongside Cabernet Sauvignon, with the Franc playing a decisive phenolic role that reinforces elegance, linearity and brightness. Guidalberto 2024 - 1 x Case x 6 Bottles

With the 2024 vintage, Tenuta San Guido presents the twenty-fifth edition of Guidalberto, a milestone that invites us to look at the path taken and at the awareness this wine has achieved over more than two decades. Guidalberto was born at the beginning of the 2000s as an open project, conceived to explore an oenological style consistent with the philosophy of Tenuta San Guido and capable of evolving over time. Twenty-five vintages later, that vocation for experimentation has transformed into identity: not static, but progressively refined, built through coherent choices, successive adjustments, continuous observation. This new edition of Guidalberto shows full self-awareness, the natural result of an identity now fully formed.

Guidalberto 2024 (52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 48% Merlot) reveals an intense ruby-red hue and aromatic complexity enriched by the subtle vegetal nuances typical of the vintage. In its youth, it offers an immediately inviting nose while hinting at a significant aromatic evolution over the medium to long term. The bouquet opens with fresh vegetal notes that, with aeration, broaden into hints of cassis, delicate citrus tones of bergamot, and well-integrated wild berry fruit. On the palate, the wine strikes for its elegance and freshness, with a lively energy that drives the sip and a precise, long finish always under the sign of the finesse that characterises the vintage. The structure, more restrained than in other years, enhances immediate and gratifying drinkability, supported by a saline note that lends verticality. Three key elements define Guidalberto 2024: its aromatic complexity; the saline and Mediterranean scrub notes already perceptible on the nose; and a vibrant freshness that, together with perfectly integrated tannins and a clear, sapid fruit expression, accompanies the wine throughout the tasting.

Le Difese 2024 - 1 x Case x 6 Bottles

The latest addition to Tenuta San Guido’s portfolio, Le Difese, made its debut with the 2002 vintage. This wine marries the hallmark elegance of Cabernet Sauvignon (25%), the signature variety of the estate, with the quintessential Tuscan charm of Sangiovese (75%), sourced from the Montespertoli and Chianti Rufina regions. Named after the wild boar tusks depicted on the label, Le Difese is Tenuta San Guido’s warm welcome to guests from around the globe. The 2024 Le Difese is bright, fragrant and fruity wine with aromas of red cherries, violets and forest floor. Juicy and crisp on the palate, with a light to medium body and chalky tannins.
