JAMES SUCKLING 94 points
Deep and layered with ripe dark berries, baking spices, toasted cedar, cocoa and bark on the nose. Generous and sophisticated with a full body and firm, chewy tannins. Big and structured with a long finish. Try after 2026.

VINOUS 94 points
The 2019 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva Vigneto Santa Pia is incredibly fresh, with arching florals, dried citrus and an aroma that reminds me of dusty old library books, but in such a pleasurable and nostalgic way. This is youthfully lean and intense with floral-tinged red fruits, salty mineral tones and a layer of sweet saturating tannins. The 2019 was just bottled a few weeks prior to me tasting it, and it is already quite stunning. - Eric Guido
