Description
Weingut Bernhard Huber is a pioneering estate in Baden, celebrated for elevating German Spätburgunder to world class standards with Burgundian elegance. The 2023 vintage, a warm growing season, required meticulous vineyard management to ensure grapes retained freshness and developed optimal ripeness. Huber's 2023 Malterdingen Spatburgunder opens with a dry and woody, quite toasty but fresh and elegant bouquet of ripe dark berries and red cherries. Elegant and fresh on the palate, this is an aromatic, round and juicy, nicely balanced Pinot Noir with remarkably fine tannins and a fine, crystalline and saline finish. The plant material is 60% Burgundian clones and 40% German. Aged for around 18 months in 30% new French oak barrique.
