Description
This wine comes from vines planted in 1929 at a higher-than-usual density of 13,000 vines per hectare. It is perhaps autosuggestion based on the name, but this has a peppery character that marries beautifully with the creamy, silken old-vine fruit. The tannins are of exceptionally high quality for such a supposedly modest appellation.
Neal Martin, Vinous: 89-91 points - "The 2022 Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Pimentiers has a very comely bouquet with red cherries and wild strawberries. It is precise and, though not powerful, nicely controlled. The medium-bodied palate has gentle grip, fine depth, and well-judged acidity with a composed, persistent finish. For a Savigny Village, this will do nicely. Drink over the next decade." Drink 2025 - 2035.
