Description
The Château Le Bon Pasteur is planted on 6.6 hectares of gravel-clay and gravel-sand soils. The grape varieties are 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet franc. The wines are aged for 15 to 18 months in French oak barrels, 80% of which are new. The wine is exemplary, so refined, velvety and deep, developing sublime aromas of evolution after a few years of cellaring.
DECANTER 91 points
Tasted by Jane Anson at Bordeaux, 20 May 2020
Plenty of château typicity in this plump and frank Pomerol laden with touches of blackberry, marzipan and saffron spice. I love the Cabernet Franc edge giving sculpting and lift on the finish. A yield of 37hl/ha. 70% new oak.

THE WINE ADVOCATE 92-94+
The 2019 Bon Pasteur sports a deep garnet-purple color, charging out of the glass with bold blackberry pie, blueberry preserves and prunes notes followed by hints of cedar chest, Ceylon tea, Indian spices and licorice with a waft of violets. Full-bodied, the palate packs a wallop of black fruits, framed by rock-solid, grainy tannins and tons of freshness, finishing with great length and depth.
JAMES SUCKLING 95-96 Points
25 Apr, 2020 – A tight, focused red with blackberry and dark-chocolate character. It’s full-bodied with chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. Tannin driven. Muscular.
