*****
Domaine Chevillon-Chezeaux has been a prominent fixture in Nuits-Saint-Georges for five generations, originally founded in 1887 by Eugène-François Chevillon. The estate adopted its current name in 2000 when Philippe Chezeaux joined, working alongside his wife Claire Chevillon and her parents, Michel and Pascale Chevillon. Today, the domaine spans nearly 9 hectares of vineyards, employing sustainable growing methods, with all harvesting conducted by hand. It includes at least 14 different appellations, five of which are Nuits-Saint-Georges Premiers Crus.
The vineyards are primarily located in Nuits-Saint-Georges and Vosne-Romanée, with almost 2 hectares dedicated to five distinct premiers crus. The grapes undergo 100% destemming, followed by a 5-7 day cold maceration before fermentation, and are aged for 15-18 months in 20-25% new oak barrels. The wines are known for their vibrant fruit flavors and fine balance, showcasing the terroirs from which they originate. Notably, one lesser-known premier cru owned by the domaine produces elegant, harmonious wines with sumptuous fruit and high-quality tannins, ideal for drinking from 2028 to 2033.
